2015 Lincoln Funeral Commemoration
Illinois Tourism Commercial

Lincoln was the first president assassinated and his death greatly affected the entire nation. Please join us on May 1-3, 2015 in Springfield to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Lincoln's Springfield funeral. Please attend dressed in period attire to help add to the authenticity of the event.

Garret Moffett will be serving as Master of Ceremonies and acting in the role of Ward Hill Lamon for the commemoration.

Lamon was Lincoln's former law partner, best friend, and personal bodyguard, but was not on duty the night of Lincoln's assassination though he had incessantly guarded Lincoln through the White House years. Lamon's final duty was to escort Lincoln's coffin from Washington back to Springfield.

Please visit the web site for information and how the public, schools, and the military may participate in the commemoration.

5,000 Civil War reenactors are already committed to the commemoration.

Please visit the web site to make your tax deductible donation to help support the event.
