Guide Services - Available year-round
Let's be honest here, Springfield is not so large that people can't get around to the sites on their own. So why then hire a guide? In addition to making sure you get to the sites you want to see in a timely fashion we will enhance your visit with historical commentary that will elevate your appreciation for the Lincoln family and all they endured to save our nation. And we'll take you around Springfield with hometown hospitality.
Our guides are familiar with stories and history beyond what you will hear at the sites and they're trained to pay attention to customer needs. We've been known to take our clients to pharmacies and Wal-Mart for needs! We can sometimes offer airport and train pick-up and drop-off to our clients as well.

Personal Guide - This service is for individuals, couples, families that would like to hire a guide to escort them to the various sites. Give us a call or send us an email and check for date/time availability.
Group Guide or Step-on Guide - This service is for groups and coach/bus groups over 15 persons in need of a guide to step on board their coach or walk the group to the requested sites with historical commentary.
If your visit to Springfield involves visits to the historical sites or museums and your group is larger than 15 you must have reservations made through the Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau (SCVB). Click here for the SCVB reservation page
Once you have your official itinerary from the SCVB please forward that itinerary to us.
About 7-10 days prior to the date of your visit, give us a call just to touch base and make sure your tour leader and our guide has each other's cell phone numbers so they can communicate. Cell numbers are kept confidential.
Guide Rates
$100 for half day, up to 4 hours
$175 for full day, up to 8 hours
We do not prorate the time.
Payment is due by the end of your tour. Cash or company check made out to Garret Moffett/Springfield Walks.
Guides and drivers always appreciate a tip if they've done a good job.
