Group Tours and Rate Information

This is for any group over 15, including coach or bus groups that are interested in any of our walking tours.

We can also custom design a tour centered around the interests and needs of your group.  

There are two ways to do a group tour.

1. Groups are free to just show up for our scheduled tour times and participate with the public. Please give us a call so we know you’re coming and we can be better prepared for a larger group. Please arrive 15 minutes before tour time. No prepay or deposit required in this case.

TO SCHEDULE A PRIVATE GROUP TOUR OR TO HIRE A GUIDE:

1. Call us at 217-502-8687or email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Determine itinerary, day and time, and check for availability.

2. Submit a $40 prepaid deposit to Springfield Walks.

3. Once Springfield Walks receives your tour deposit, we will email your tour booking and confirmation.

* In the event of cancellation the deposit is refundable until 14 days prior to your tour date. Under 14 days the deposit is forfeited.

* Within 7-10 days prior to tour date please contact Springfield Walks with your final numbers. If your tour is paid per person this is the minimum number of people you will be charged for your tour. (This policy is the result of less showing up than confimred)

* Exchange cell phone numbers between tour leader and your Springfield Walks guide so we can communicate. Cell phones numbers are kept confidential.

4. Balance of tour cost is due at the start of the tour; cash, company check, or MC/Visa. Payable at our tour headquarters,  209 S. 6th St. Located in same building as the Lincoln Law Office at 6th and Adams St.

We are used to all kinds of groups including senior groups and pay attention to their needs. Our tours are ADA accessible, but if mobility or tired feet is an issue tours can in some cases be done on board the coach.

Keep in mind tours operate rain or shine but not in dangerous weather.

We have weather radar in our headquarters so tour decisions can be made right up to tour time.

Weird, True & Scandalous Walk - $8 Adults

Springfield's Haunted Dead Walk - Rates posted as soon as sites are secured for 2010 tours.

1908 Race Riot Walk - $10 per person

Springfield Trilogy Talk - $3 per person
